From News Center (Text by Luo Shihua from the Publicity Department of the CPC LZPU Committee and Zuo Yingzi from the International Exchange Department (School of International Education), Photo by Convergence Media Center and Chen Chen from the Publicity Department of the CPC LZPU Committee) On September 29, the launching ceremony of the Indonesia-China Vocational Education Enhancement Program ("ICVEEP") led by LZPU was held in Liuzhou.

The launching ceremony was attended by Warsito, Deputy Minister of Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia; Ahmad Saufi, Assistant Deputy Minister and Director of Vocational and Higher Education Department of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia; Yudil Chatim, Education and Culture Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy in China; Yan Bingchen, Deputy Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Zheng Limei, Secretary-General of the National Machinery Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee; and Jiang Weimin, Second-level Inspector of Liuzhou Municipal People's Government. Additionally, leaders from LZPU also attended the event, including Liu Zilin, Secretary of the Party Committee of LZPU, and Gan Jinming, President of LZPU.

In his speech at the ceremony, Warsito spoke highly of the work by LZPU, LiuGong Machinery Co., Ltd., and Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya in leading the establishment of China-Indonesia TVET Industry-Education Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance"), and expressed gratitude to the Alliance and LZPU for organizing the implementation of ICVEEP. In his speech, Yan Bingchen highlighted that the Department of Education of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region attaches great importance to ICVEEP. He expressed that the Department will encourage and support vocational colleges in Guangxi to actively take part in both the application and implementation of the Program, with the aim of jointly advancing China-Indonesia TVET cooperation to a higher level. Zheng Limei stated that ICVEEP is the product of extensive communication and careful preparation between Chinese and Indonesian colleges. She also mentioned that LZPU will recommend outstanding domestic vocational colleges to participate in the Program's implementation. Jiang Weimin emphasized his hope that the Program could cultivate more technical and skilled talents with international vision and cross-cultural communication ability, thereby providing strong support for the sustainable development of the regional economy. Liu Zilin pointed out that LZPU, as the leading unit of the Program, will work closely with vocational colleges participating in the Program to jointly promote the comprehensive enhancement of Indonesia's vocational education.

Subsequently, a grand launching ceremony was held for ICVEEP. Participating enterprises and colleges also exchanged views. Xie Yonghua, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, Ju Hongxia, Vice President of LZPU, as well as representatives from LiuGong, SGMW, PT NVT INDONESIA, and PT CCEPC INDONESIA, shared their experience in developing in ASEAN.

For a long time, due to the unsynchronized industrial development between China and ASEAN countries, there have been huge differences in the curriculum of vocational education. These differences have become a bottleneck that seriously restricts China's vocational colleges from "going global" to implement academic education cooperation. ICVEEP is based on the "1+1+1" and "2+1+1" Academic Education Phased School-Enterprise Joint Training Program ("Joint Training Program") jointly promoted by the members of the Alliance, following the principle of respecting Indonesia's actual industrial development and academic freedom of Indonesian colleges. In the Program, with pilot colleges in China and Indonesia, the Chinese side will provide Indonesian teachers with training in curriculum development and teaching implementation. A joint workshop for Chinese and Indonesian teachers and enterprise engineers will be set up to jointly create majors standards and curriculum standards, as well as textbooks and online teaching resources. These efforts aim to realize the connection of specialized curriculum systems in vocational education between the two countries and mutual recognition of credits, thus ensuring the high-quality implementation of the Joint Training Program among vocational colleges in the two countries.

ICVEEP is China's first practice to promote Chinese TVET standards, models and methods globally in the form of training sessions and joint workshops, which has been highly valued by the government and industry associations. As the chairman unit of the Alliance, LZPU has been entrusted by the Forum Direktur Politeknik Negeri se-Indonesia (FDPNI) to organize and implement ICVEEP. The goal is to promote the co-construction and sharing of TVET standards and teaching resources between China and Indonesia and to provide support for in-depth cooperation between vocational colleges in running schools in both countries. ICVEEP will become an important exploration of China's vocational education going global under the new situation.

Nearly 150 guests also attended the launching ceremony, including Achmad Gunawan, Senior Policy Analyst, and Fery Ferdiansyah, Senior Planner of Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs of Indonesia; Luo Yaoguang, Director of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Division of the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Pang Zhiyong, Director of Liuzhou Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi; Wen Jian, a member of the Leading Party Members' Group and Deputy Director of the Liuzhou Municipal Education Bureau, as well as representatives from governments at all levels, universities, associations, and enterprises.
